Short trips and diesel particulate filters
Many modern diesels have a diesel particulate filter (DPF) that clears itself during sustained driving at speed. Vehicles that mostly do short runs around town may not complete that process, which can bring on a DPF warning. If yours lights up, call us rather than ignoring it.
Clean fuel matters more in a diesel
Diesel injection systems run at very high pressure and are sensitive to water and contamination. Replacing fuel filters on schedule and draining the water separator protects expensive injectors and pumps.

My diesel is blowing smoke. What does it mean?
Colour is a useful clue. Black smoke usually points to excess fuel or restricted air, white can indicate unburnt fuel or coolant, and blue suggests oil being burnt. A diagnosis confirms the cause. Call 0435 885 888 to book one.
Should diesels be serviced more often than petrol cars?
Follow your manufacturer's schedule. Some diesels have shorter oil change intervals, and towing or heavy loads can count as severe use, which shortens intervals further.
